  • Bryan McCartney

    Bryan is the founder of HeartSeed. His passion for music has overflowed into the hearts of his students, allowing them to discover their own love for the language. His strategy is not to enforce practice hours, but to encourage playing with others. Yes, practice is important, but the whole point of learning a language is to be able to communicate with others. Bryan is still active in playing in the Church, and also touring playing conferences, and other gigs. When its not playing music, he enjoys spending time with his family.

    Bryan is not currently teaching at the time.

  • Kaitrin McCoy

    Kaitrin is a professional multi-instrumentalist and songwriter with a bachelor’s in music composition from Ohio University. Her musical journey began as a small child singing in a Baptist church youth choir and learning piano from her Nana and her mom. As a teacher, her goal is to support students in building confidence, skills, and a lifelong love for music. When not teaching, Kaitrin enjoys playing fiddle with several bands in the Cincinnati area and spending time with family and friends.

    Kaitrin teaches voice, violin, cello, and piano.

  • Andrew Bates

    Andrew is a pianist and music producer with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. His musical journey started out in 2006 at 5 years old when he borrowed a beginner piano book from his school. Ever since then, he was hooked on learning more. While taking lessons throughout all of his life, he has performed with his Father's band, produced music for several artists and bands, and currently plays with his own local band in the Cincinnati area.
    As a piano teacher, his goal is to create a welcoming and comfortable environment where beginner students at any age can discover their passion for piano and music while also building their skills at their own pace. Outside of music, Andrew loves playing Pickleball, rock climbing, and computer science.

  • BB Jordan

    BB has been teaching the guitar and playing with bands since 2016. His love for music began when his father purchased his first guitar for him on his seventh birthday. After taking lessons all throughout childhood, he proudly stepped into the shoes of the teachers that guided his passion. BB teaches with an easygoing manor, aiming to create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. His goal is to instill a love for music in his students. When BB is not teaching he enjoys playing with his bands (one of which includes his mother) and spending time with family and friends.

  • Sergio Reyes

    Sergio Reyes is a Colombian multi-instrumentalist with more than 18 years of music experience including formal education in music theory and singing. He started his music journey at age 15; founding the alternative rock band D Blanko a Negro in Fusagasugá, Colombia in which he was the main songwriter, guitar player, lead singer, and at one point, producer. He has started and joined many musical projects from ska to rock, and also has participated in jazz big bands as a singer

    Sergio teaches voice, piano, guitar, bass, and ukulele.

  • Nate Trammel

    Nate is a professional musician with a certificate in advanced music production from Berklee college of music. He has a passion for teaching others and makes it a goal to encourage students to believe in themselves and their talent. He strives to provide a safe and comfortable environment for anyone that has a desire to learn the aspects of music production, music theory, or any other general music/instrument subjects.

    Nate teaches drums.

  • Nathan Herms

    Nathan is guitar player with a lifelong love for music. Eventually, he found interest in learning to play other instruments such as bass and ukulele. He discovered his love for teaching music through teaching children as a worker in foster care. Nathan aspires to help others use music as a creative outlet as well as a form of release.

  • Paul Romer

    Paul is a music educator and multi-instrumentalist with a Bachelor's degree in music education from Eastern Kentucky University. His first memories of music are of listening to classic rock radio in the car with his dad and trying to memorize all the different songs and bands. As a teenager, he started exploring music more seriously on his own, teaching himself to play drums and piano and jamming with his brother who played guitar. Since graduating in 2017 Paul has taught students of all ages privately as well as at public schools in Cincinnati and in California as a licensed music teacher. While living in California from 2022-26 he also performed on his own and as the keyboard player in a rock band. Paul moved back to his hometown of Cincinnati in the summer of 2026 and has been excited to be bringing his passion and love of music to a whole new group of young musicians at Heartseed.

  • Yunseo (Yun) Chang

    Yunseo Chang is a pianist and dedicated piano teacher committed to helping students develop confidence, creativity, and discipline through music. He earned his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities and is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. His recent achievements include First Prize in the Ohio Legacy Piano Competition and the Marvin O. Mechelke II Piano Competition, as well as Second Prize in the Schubert Club Bruce P. Carlson Scholarship Competition. His performance experience and ongoing studies allow him to provide students with a strong musical foundation while making lessons engaging, encouraging, and personalized to each student’s goals. Outside of music, Yunseo is a 4th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and has served as a Master Instructor at Chang’s Yong In Martial Arts in Minnesota since 2017. He has taught more than 300 students, from young children to adults, helping them develop confidence, discipline, respect, and perseverance. He brings these same values into his piano teaching, creating a positive and supportive environment where students can grow both as musicians and as individuals.
